Classic Burger Recipe

Ingredients:

  • For the Burger Patties:

    • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat for juiciness)
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • For the Buns and Toppings:

    • 4 hamburger buns
    • 4 slices of cheddar cheese (optional)
    • Lettuce leaves
    • Tomato slices
    • Red onion slices
    • Pickles
    • Ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise
    • Butter for toasting buns

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Patties:

    • Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions.
    • Gently shape each portion into a round patty, about ¾ inch thick. Avoid overworking the meat to keep it tender.
    • Season both sides of each patty with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Cook the Patties:

    • Preheat a grill, grill pan, or skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Place the patties on the grill or pan and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness. Adjust the cooking time if you prefer the burger more rare or well-done.
    • If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover with a lid to melt.
  3. Toast the Buns:

    • While the patties are cooking, lightly butter the inside of each bun.
    • Toast the buns on the grill or in a skillet until golden brown.

  4. Assemble the Burgers:

    • Spread your choice of condiments on the bottom bun.
    • Place a lettuce leaf on the bun, followed by the burger patty.
    • Add tomato slices, red onion, and pickles.
    • Top with the other half of the bun.
  5. Serve:

    • Serve the burgers hot with your favorite sides like fries, coleslaw, or a fresh salad.

This recipe provides a delicious, juicy burger with classic toppings. Perfect for a summer cookout or a satisfying meal at home!
