Classic Burger Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Burger Patties:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat for juiciness)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
For the Buns and Toppings:
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese (optional)
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Red onion slices
- Pickles
- Ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise
- Butter for toasting buns
Instructions:
Prepare the Patties:
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions.
- Gently shape each portion into a round patty, about ¾ inch thick. Avoid overworking the meat to keep it tender.
- Season both sides of each patty with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Cook the Patties:
- Preheat a grill, grill pan, or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Place the patties on the grill or pan and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium doneness. Adjust the cooking time if you prefer the burger more rare or well-done.
- If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover with a lid to melt.
Toast the Buns:
- While the patties are cooking, lightly butter the inside of each bun.
- Toast the buns on the grill or in a skillet until golden brown.
Assemble the Burgers:
- Spread your choice of condiments on the bottom bun.
- Place a lettuce leaf on the bun, followed by the burger patty.
- Add tomato slices, red onion, and pickles.
- Top with the other half of the bun.
Serve:
- Serve the burgers hot with your favorite sides like fries, coleslaw, or a fresh salad.
This recipe provides a delicious, juicy burger with classic toppings. Perfect for a summer cookout or a satisfying meal at home!
