Classic Homemade Burger
Ingredients:
For the Patty:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1 tsp onion powder (optional)
For the Toppings:
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Onion slices
- Pickles
- Ketchup, mustard, or your favorite sauces
Instructions:
Prepare the Beef Patties:
- In a bowl, gently mix the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder if using.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties. Press them slightly in the center to avoid bulging during cooking.
Cook the Patties:
- Heat a grill or a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, depending on your desired doneness (3 minutes per side for medium-rare, 4 minutes per side for medium).
- If you’re adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking, then cover with a lid to melt.
Toast the Buns:
- While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a separate pan until golden brown.
Assemble the Burger:
- Spread your favorite sauce on the bottom half of the bun.
- Place a lettuce leaf, then the patty with melted cheese, followed by tomato and onion slices.
- Add pickles and any additional toppings you like.
- Top with the other half of the bun.
Serve and Enjoy:
- Serve the burgers with fries or a side salad, and enjoy your homemade classic burger!
